Digital features author and style correspondent of Harper’s Bazaar Italia Chidozie Obasi has visited Kyiv to attend Ukrainian Fashion Week and highlighted following brands: LEM, Iron Thread, Overall, Lallier and Elena Burenina.
“Among the new talents and well-known designers there were performances and fashion shows, where sportswear alternated with demi-couture. A combination of art and fashion shows: an eventful fashion calendar where everyone is immersed in creating an exciting, innovative and sustainable environment.
New Generation of Fashion has become the first comprehensive talent support program suitable for various categories of young designers in Ukraine who want to gain professional experience and strive for success through education. Members of the Ukrainian Fashion Council became mentors of the New Generation of Fashion. The project program includes individual consultations, offers mentoring opportunities and supports the creation of collections by young designers.
Taking into account the challenges faced by each Fashion Week and demonstrating a willingness to respond to them, a few seasons ago Ukrainian Fashion Week announced the concept of NO SEASON and established a phygital format as support for designers. The UFW hybrid format provides access to digital events and collections to anyone interested in the Ukrainian fashion industry” – writes Chidozi Obashi.
