UFW SS25 x KDW: “Design of Freedom” Project
KDW, in partnership with UFW, unveiled the unique installation project “Design of Freedom” on September 2, marking the opening of the main trend zone that combines Ukrainian Fashion Week with Kyiv Design Week. The installation explores three states: “Beyond Time” reflects Ukrainians’ desire to return to their traditions, “Through Boundaries” highlights innovators using modern technology, and “State of Resilience” presents honest reflections on war through design objects.
The installation, crafted by IK-architects, spans over 100 m² and features multiple “tents” housing over 50 Ukrainian designers, artists, ceramists, and artisans. Exhibited brands include VOZIANOV, Kachorovska, ZAVOD, FURN Object, GAEVA, MÜ store, YaKUSH, DIZA, DONNA, SOLOMIA, MAPICO, Pink Gentle Clouds, Fayina Yerenburh, and craft workshops like Medovi Svichky, Guculiya, SHABALTAS. Visitors will also find projects from students and residents of UFEG, OSTRIV, Risodentsia, Schooll of Art × Craft, as well as notable wartime publications from Projector Publishing, CP Publishing, ist Publishing, MacPaw, and ArtHuss.
This space stands as a manifesto of vitality and hope, encapsulated in materials, time, and shared perspectives, embodying the resilience and creative spirit of Ukraine.
