UFW SS25: NADYA DZYAK Show

NADYA DZYAK present their new SS25 collection called Chromatic, inspired by the natural phenomena of Southern Ukraine. The primary inspiration for the collection is the Pink Lakes and the breathtaking views of the Kinburn Spit. These unique landscapes captivate the eye with their play of light and color, crafting mesmerizing optical illusions that are meticulously reflected in the collection’s designs.

“The south of Ukraine is my love. I close my eyes and journey there in my mind, believing that the day will come when we will reclaim our lands and swim in the Pink Lakes again,” says Nadya Dzyak, the brand’s designer and creative director. “This region has given us a wealth of inspiration, including the artist Polina Raiko, whose home and museum were tragically destroyed during the war. This collection is profoundly important to me, as it will be presented at the first Ukrainian Fashion Week since Russia’s full-scale invasion, and with that comes immense responsibility. I feel it’s my mission to draw attention to Ukrainian reality through my designs and to share our culture and heritage with the world.”

The Chromatic collection features several parts. The dresses and suits, in delicate shades of sunny lime and tangerine, bright fuchsia, and aquamarine, echo the intertwining colors of the Pink Lakes. The collection includes the brand’s signature transparent dresses and blouses, made of featherlight fabrics and accented with decorative pleated elements. For more than 14 years, the brand has been working with pleated fabric, produced at a factory in Kharkiv. The production process has continued unabated despite the constant shelling of the city. Voluminous flounces in varying shades of pink are artistically arranged on a white background, evoking the natural contours of the Pink Lakes, trimmed with white salt foam. The designer further explores guipure, an unusual texture for the brand. This material is crafted into dresses and tops with asymmetrical necklines and voluminous lace flowers.

Transparent and ethereal materials are integral to the brand’s DNA. In the new collection, they contrast strikingly with the oversized silhouettes of sporty mesh bombers and oversized jackets. Low-rise shorts and trousers, alongside short crop tops with cutouts, nod to the 2000s aesthetic, blending romantic elements with sporty details.
Unique accessories were created exclusively for the collection in collaboration with Alisa Grishayeva, the designer of Grie. These include clutch bags made of structured mesh adorned with 3D flowers, designed in the distinctive Grie shape of a functional handbag.
