New fashion.  New formats.  New sense

 For the fourth season in a row, UFEG designers are taking part in Ukrainian Fashion Week to share their vision of world development and fashion at the country’s main fashion event.

 Along with the traditional catwalk show, multidimensional modern fashion needs new formats, so UFEG is expanding the borders of its work.  This season, participants have prepared two projects – an immersive exhibition and a digital performance.

 Bio Fashion Lab: Grown Future

 UFEG is the first and only Ukrainian institution dealing with the most ecological and promising area of ​​fashion – biodesign.  By uniting with scientists, we build mutually beneficial relationships with nature.

 Guests of Ukrainian Fashion Week saw a simulated design studio of the XXI century – a biofashion laboratory, which explores the potential of microorganisms in fashion and creates a living design.  There mushroom mycelium turns into biodegradable accessories, algae into bioplastic, and the pigmentation of microorganisms becomes a safe paint.  “Making more better than less bad” – this is the approach that inspires us to develop a symbiotic fashion.

 

Digital Craft: Ukraine in New Postcard

 What does cultural and digital codes have in common?  Who are the crafters in cyberspace?  How are digital dresses made of the vine and tempered glass?  UFEG digitizes the national heritage and writes the latest history of Ukrainian crafts under the hashtag #digital_craft.

 The digital postcards of our students were revived in the broadcast on the MEGOGO media service. UFEG prepared a performance, which combined the physical and digital worlds and laid the foundations for the skills of Ukrainian digital craft.
