Maksym Kudrevskyi presents an expanded iteration of “BODY”, a project that first took shape during his university studies and has since evolved into a fully realised collection, reinterpreted and developed for presentation today.

For KUDREVSKYI, human anatomy becomes the blueprint from which form is constructed. The musculoskeletal system, muscular framework and natural contours of the body are translated into paneling, cut-outs, asymmetry and sculptural silhouettes. The designer approaches the body as a construction drawing — studying tension and release, points of support, movement and the interplay of individual parts, before translating this logic directly into the finished garment. As a result, the lines of the collection do not appear simply applied to the surface; they seem to emerge from within the construction itself.

The conceptual space for the presentation is being developed by designer and Chief Visual Merchandiser of TSUM Kyiv, Anastasiia Kanarova, who approaches the installation as an extension of the collection’s artistic and structural language.At the heart of the space will be a life-size 3D paper installation derived from the forms of the collection. Volumetric paper replicas of the garments will be transformed into an independent sculptural object, exploring the relationship between body, form and material.

KUDREVSKYI invites us to consider the body not as an object to be reshaped according to a predetermined silhouette, but as the first — and perhaps most complex — form created by nature.

The collection is therefore not concerned with anatomy for its own sake, but with the relationship between body, movement and construction. What is usually concealed beneath fabric becomes the very foundation of its form.The body becomes the blueprint.
