SS27: JULIYA KROS show
For designer Yuliia Perekriostova and the JULIYA KROS team, working on the RECONSTRUCTION collection became one of the most challenging yet significant chapters in the brand’s history.

While the collection was being developed, a Russian strike damaged the JULIYA KROS production facility in Sumy. Fortunately, the team was unharmed, but the familiar rhythm of work, production processes, and sense of stability were shattered. The JULIYA KROS team did not stop. This is why the collection was created not as a reaction to destruction, but as proof that creativity can become a form of recovery. That to create means not only to keep working, but also to restore meaning to life where others tried to destroy it.
It was then that the word RECONSTRUCTION ceased to be merely the name of a future collection. It became a personal experience.

An experience of rebuilding. An experience of searching for new solutions. An experience of believing that creating is more powerful than destroying. That is why RECONSTRUCTION is dedicated to everyone who continues to create despite the war. This collection is about people who rise from the ruins. About the reconstruction of life. About the reconstruction of consciousness. About character forged through adversity. About the inner strength to discover new possibilities where, only yesterday, none seemed to exist.
For Yuliia Perekriostova, reconstruction is first and foremost the human ability to adapt without losing oneself. This is why transformation becomes the central metaphor of the collection — a creative method that has defined the DNA of JULIYA KROS for many years.
For the SS2027 season, the designer revisits iconic pieces that have earned the trust of the brand’s clients over the years. This time, however, they return transformed. Just like people changed by war. Familiar, timeless silhouettes are given new transformational solutions: even more ways to wear them, new functions, and the ability to alter the silhouette, length, volume, and even the color of a garment. In this collection, reconstruction takes place on two levels: a person discovers new possibilities within themselves, while clothing opens up new possibilities for the person. This is where the designer sees the true meaning of transformation. Not changing form for the sake of change itself, but creating greater freedom, greater choice, and more ways to adapt to a life that is constantly evolving.
The brand’s creative language remains unchanged. At the heart of the collection is Japanese aesthetics: clean geometry, asymmetry, deconstruction, and functionality. Form is born not for decoration, but from the human need for freedom, movement, and choice.
The collection is built around natural materials — linen, cotton, and Tencel. Their natural textures emphasize the honesty of the material, its character, and durability.
Reversible fabrics, which the brand has been working with for many years, hold a special place in the collection. By using both sides of the fabric, the designer creates garments capable of changing their color and mood. One piece reveals two stories — just as a person, after everything they have lived through, discovers new dimensions of themselves.

The collection’s color palette also becomes a language of meaning.
Black is the color of inner strength. It symbolizes character, resilience, and the ability to stand firm even when uncertainty surrounds us.
White symbolizes a new beginning. It is the color of light, renewal, and the space in which the future is born. Shades of beige and brown represent the earth. The colors of home, memory, human warmth, and restoration. They remind us that life always finds a way, even after the deepest destruction.
In RECONSTRUCTION, clothing becomes a metaphor for the human being. Its transformations remind us that adaptation does not mean losing oneself. It means discovering new possibilities while remaining true to one’s essence.
For JULIYA KROS, clothing has always been more than form. It is a tool for adaptation. For freedom.
For conscious choice. Every transformation of a garment proves that new possibilities are born precisely when life forces us to change.
RECONSTRUCTION is dedicated to everyone who, despite the war, continues to work, create, teach, heal, build businesses, raise children, and rebuild the country through their actions every single day. Because before cities are rebuilt, people rebuild themselves. It is from their inner strength that the ability to create again, to love, to work, and to move forward is born. We cannot stop destruction. But we can decide what we will create after it. And it is with this decision that true reconstruction begins.
The collection was created with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Ukraine’s Cohesion and Regional Development”, UCORD, which is implemented with the support of Switzerland by NIRAS Sweden AB. UCORD supports regional development, culture, and the creative industries, including through the “Greenhouse of Ideas” programme, under which a UCORD grant contributed to the creation of the new JULIYA KROS SS2027 collection.
