In a world where almost everything can be replicated — from appearance and trends to status and the image of success — some things remain impossible to copy: the way a person thinks, their character, and how they feel in their own body. It is from this idea that THE NEW INSTINCT, the new collection by COVER, was born and presented as part of Ukrainian Fashion Week.

Intelligence is the New Sex is the collection’s central idea and marks the brand’s most direct exploration of sexuality to date.

“For me, THE NEW INSTINCT is not about intelligence replacing sexuality. On the contrary, today intelligence is becoming a new form of sexuality. True attraction begins not with appearance, but with the freedom to think and remain yourself. I was interested in how our perception of attractiveness, masculinity, and femininity is changing,” says Anastasiia Fedorova.

The sexuality of THE NEW INSTINCT does not hide behind minimalism — it becomes part of it. The collection brings together COVER’s three key directions: Tailoring, Denim, and Eco-Leather.

Materials and details are built around contrast: structured fabrics, heavyweight denim, wool, and soft silk meet architectural cut-outs, slits, and transparency. The men’s and women’s lines feature neoclassical suits, denim sets, bombers, shirts, short shorts, and dresses.

For the first time in COVER’s history, the brand works with premium vegan leather. Anastasiia Fedorova consciously chose it over genuine leather, considering the ethics of a material just as important as its quality and visual appeal.

The collection’s palette is grounded in restrained shades of black, graphite, deep browns, and white, accented with touches of blue and fuchsia. The designer’s moodboard features photographs by Helmut Newton, texts by Susan Sontag, and the imagery of Charlotte Rampling — strength and control, intellectual provocation, and understated sensuality. Together, they form the visual language of THE NEW INSTINCT, where intelligence meets instinct.
