SS27: BaLykina show

Ukrainian brand BALYKINA presented its new collection, DÉBUT, dedicated to a moment of personal rebirth — a transition from inner stillness to movement, from introspection to self-expression.Corset elements, a clear architectural approach to lines, asymmetrical details, draping, and voluminous forms create silhouettes that unfold in interaction with the body and emphasize its plasticity. “Dynamics become one of the key elements of the collection, both in its design and visual language. The form changes together with the body, turning movement into a literal manifestation of the transformation embedded in the very construction of the garments,” shares the brand’s founder and creative director, Alina Balykina.

From understated neutrals to more expressive and complex colors — the collection’s palette features black, beige, cool blue, and rich red, complemented by the brand’s first original print. The combination of satin, leather, and textured and shimmering fabrics adds depth to the palette and enhances the contrast between understated and more statement-making looks.

Layered interpretations, modular details and the ability to style individual elements in different ways allow a single garment to work in a variety of contexts. The brand’s signature corset silhouettes are reimagined, becoming part of dresses, skirts and more voluminous shapes. For the brand, this is also a way of promoting a conscious approach to consumption – creating garments with a long lifespan that do not go out of fashion after a single wear and can evolve alongside their owner.

DÉBUT speaks to a woman for whom change is a natural part of life, and her own identity is a living, continuous process. Clothing becomes a form of personal dialogue, reflecting inner change through silhouette, movement and a sense of self. DÉBUT explores transformation as a natural continuation of oneself — fluid, personal and at the same time distinctly recognizable.
