The new Polina Veller collection is the result of creative collaboration with the Crimean Tatar Artist Rustem Skybin. The idea of the collection was born as an emotional imprint under the impression of Oyma, an element of ancient Crimean Tatar crafts. Traditionally, this is a carved stencil pattern for embroidery or creating applications for carpets. The collection uses ornaments preserved in museum collections. Having slightly modified their structure by adding their own artistic motifs, the authors weaved these ornaments into separate decor compositions. The modern lifestyle, with its materials and technologies, makes it possible to find the ancient element of Oyma as an independent art form.
