In anticipation of the release of Malevych, a film directed by Darya Onyshchenko, Ukrainian accessories brand LONA PRIST introduces the Malevych capsule collection—a tribute to the artist’s creative legacy, reimagined in a modern context.

“LONA PRIST bags are all about geometry and clean lines. Malevych’s approach to form and color inspired me to take this direction in design—minimalist, restrained, and precise, without unnecessary visual noise or embellishment,” says Alyona Prist, founder and creative director of the brand. “In fact, our logo was inspired by the Black Square. This collection is a natural extension of LONA PRIST’s core idea: Bag as an art.”

The Malevych collection features five signature LONA PRIST designs, with the standout piece being the Cube Bag—a minimalist silhouette adorned with graphic prints inspired by Malevych’s 1916 work Suprematist Composition.

The face of the campaign is Ukrainian actor Vitaliy Azhnov, who plays the lead role in Malevych. Marking his big-screen debut, Azhnov shares: “This film is a sign that Malevych belongs to us—an effort to convey a deeply meaningful story.”

The biographical drama Malevych premiered in fall 2024, at the Molodist Film Festival, exploring the pivotal moments in the artist’s life. Structured in narrative “squares” that echo Malevych’s artistic method, the film is set for national release in Ukrainian cinemas on September 11.
