FW26–27: PRZHONSKA Show

In times when Ukraine is fighting for its independence and national identity, art becomes a powerful instrument of resistance and renewal. Ukrainians continue to show the world an unbreakable will to live and the ability to create even in the most difficult circumstances. The new collection by PRZHONSKA was created during wartime and shaped by profound cultural and historical events that have become part of the country’s collective memory.

The new PRZHONSKA collection embodies elements of drama and theatricality and is structured into three blocks, representing a gradual transition from darkness to light.

The show begins with minimalist silhouettes featuring a pronounced extended shoulder line, crafted from heavy wool, silk, and jacquard in deep, dark shades of black, raven wing, and the colour of the night sky. Dense textures create a sense of tension, uncertainty, and anxiety. This is the night — a state of chaos and inner emptiness, when control is lost, and the darkness seems endless.

The second part symbolizes the moment before dawn — “a liminal hour” — when darkness is still present, yet light is already emerging. The palette unfolds in tones of fuchsia, violet, aubergine, lilac, and ultramarine, accompanied by dark green and pink reflections. Velvet and textured fabrics recreate the depth and shifting character of the nocturnal horizon, while blue sequins, used in the collection for the first time, shimmer and disappear depending on movement. Their glow represents the fragile, elusive moment of held breath between anxiety and release.

The final block moves into sand, beige, and milky tones that gradually dissolve into pure white. Silhouettes become lighter and fabrics more delicate. White in the collection symbolizes clarity and the inevitability of dawn. It becomes an image of faith and a future that is born after the longest night.

The central figure of the show is the voice — a fundamental form of presence that cannot be taken away. The voice acts as a carrier of memory, dignity, and future.

At the heart of the staged performance is singer Mariana Holovko, a cultural figure and a powerful feminine archetype. Her a cappella performance exists beyond genre and beyond the conventional understanding of a stage act. It is a naked human voice that emerges from breath, moves through tension, and ultimately leads us toward the light.

It is a journey through darkness toward light.

The voice is born in one person, yet it does not belong only to them.
A voice is something that cannot be taken away from a courageous people. Even in darkness, it continues to resonate.
