FW25-26: PLNGNS presentation

PLNGNS brand presented the IDENTITY collection in a presentation format, reaffirming its commitment to upcycling principles, experimental design, and sustainable development. The collection offers a fresh perspective on modern fashion, embodying PLNGNS’ mission to leave a significant mark on the fashion industry by transforming the past into the future.

Creative Director Mitya Gontarenko and Chief Designer Ira Ambrosova emphasize, “We strive to create memorable designs that set new standards in a sustainable fashion.”

The collection continues focusing on recycled materials, particularly old sneakers, transformed into modern textile solutions. The color palette — black, gray, and white — accentuates structure and form, while the raw textures of the materials keep the transformation process visible. A key feature of the collection is the hand-printed designs, transferring textures onto fabric, creating organic patterns, and adding uniqueness to each piece. The silhouettes combine functionality with avant-garde elements, reflecting industrial aesthetics in a contemporary form.

Among the key pieces in the collection is a leather moto jacket, crafted using innovative stitching techniques and laser cutting. It combines mobility and functionality, with two exclusive models adorned with embroidered Ukrainian landscapes designed by artist Lesya Tertyshna. In her works, she incorporated fragments of sneakers, integrating them as an artistic element.

Another standout piece is the hybrid puffer jacket, where lightweight nylon is combined with sneaker details, creating a balance between striking aesthetics and practicality for everyday wear.

The collection is complemented by transformed nylon pants, blending sharp lines with a deconstructed aesthetic. Their versatile silhouette adapts to different stylistic solutions, seamlessly incorporating sneaker elements.

PLNGNS presented IDENTITY in a special exhibition format, creating a “gallery within a gallery”—a space where art, fashion, and ecological transformation intersect. The installation traces the brand’s journey from concept to materialization, transforming upcycled pieces into art objects and symbols of the future of sustainable design.

After the presentation, the installation will be open to all visitors of Ukrainian Fashion Week, offering a deeper dive into the concept of circular fashion as the new industry standard.

The presentation partner was the RECONOMY program — an inclusive and ecological economic development initiative created by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. The collaboration is part of the project “Circular Business Models and Resource Efficiency for Competitiveness and Growth in the Textile and Garment Sector in Eastern Partnership Countries,” which aims to introduce circular business models and transform the textile industry into a sustainable and responsible sector.

IDENTITY highlights the evolution of PLNGNS, demonstrating that high fashion and sustainability can coexist harmoniously, shaping the future of the industry through innovation, creativity, and a conscious approach.
