FW25-26: KHRYSTYNA RACHYTSKA show

The Ukrainian fashion brand KHRYSTYNA RACHYTSKA presented its eveningwear collection “Trousseau” as part of UFW FW25-26. This line weaves a narrative rooted in the depths of Ukrainian tradition, reimagined through contemporary fashion. These pieces transcend time, serving as a bridge between generations and carrying historical value — clothing to be cherished and passed down to children and grandchildren.

The brand’s founder and designer, Khrystyna Rachytska, draws inspiration from the memories of her family and the nation as a whole. For her, connecting with the timeless art of embroidery is a journey to uncover answers about her identity.

“My family has many stories about life and the struggle for our freedom, the future formation of our independence, the preservation of traditions, songs, embroidery, and everyday life,” Khrystyna says.

The collection embraces natural materials such as linen, hemp, wool, and silk—the traditional fabrics that have formed the foundation of Ukrainian clothing for centuries. These timeless textiles are transformed into exquisite blouses, skirts, distinctive jackets, trousers, and delicate dresses. Staying true to the brand’s signature palette of black, gray, white, and milk, the designer incorporates accents through accessories inspired by Ukrainian heritage.

Tradition is celebrated in the collection with “cirques” and “nyzynky” from Bukovyna, beaded necklaces and “tongues” reminiscent of Podillia’s jewelry, and “sylianky” paying homage to the costumes of the Boyko, Hutsul, and Lemko. The jewelry is thoughtfully designed to echo the intricate details of the clothing, creating harmonious, complete ensembles.

“Our task was to recreate the authentic patterns that have come down to us in the form of centuries-old clothes of our great-grandmothers,” the brand says, ”It is a symbol of support and spiritual strength. Our main goal is to pass it on to our grandchildren and great-grandchildren.”

The collection embodies the memory of generations and a profound connection to national heritage. It challenges stereotypes about ethnicity, celebrates the deep bond between family and spirituality, and redefines heritage through a contemporary lens.
