On 5th September, the Ukrainian Fashion Council will hold the final of the XXII All-Ukrainian competition of young fashion designers “LOOK into the future” at the Mystetskiy Arsenal. 18 contestants from 12 Ukrainian cities will present their collections in the final. Partners of the contest are Ukrainian Fashion Week, International Young Designers Contest, Braun, Fondy.

“One of the most important areas of our work is the search for and support of talented young designers. The fashion industry can not exist without a constant inflow of fresh blood. We have created a unique sequence of projects in Ukraine – the “creative vertical” – which allows young designers on the one hand to easily, on the other hand, consciously enter the complex world of big fashion. The creative vertical provides participation in the contest “LOOK into the future”, after which you can create and show a small collection (up to 12 outfits) on the New Names platform, and then show the collection (up to 20 outfits) on the Fresh Fashion platform.

2021 has become a special year for our work with young designers – the Ukrainian Fashion Council has implemented a large complex program New Generation of Fashion, which was supported by the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation. All finalists of the All-Ukrainian contest of young fashion designers “LOOK into the future” 2021 have become the participants of this program,”  – mentioned Iryna Danylevska, the head of the expert committee of the Ukrainian Fashion Council.

This year a live broadcast of the “LOOK into the future” final show will be available for viewing in any part of the world on the Ukrainian Fashion Week YouTube channel on 5th September at 8 p.m.

During the final, the jury will determine the fate of three official awards of the competition and of the one special.

Grand Prix. The winner of the Grand Prix of the “LOOK into the future” contest will receive a grant from Yelyzaveta Yurusheva, a businesswoman, philanthropist, and hotelier, to create a new collection. The winner will get the opportunity to participate in New Names within the Ukrainian Fashion Week and will represent Ukraine at the International Young Designers Contest.

Second official award. The winner of the award will represent Ukraine at the International Young Designers Contest and will also get the opportunity to participate in New Names within the Ukrainian Fashion Week and will receive a professional gift from the brand Braun – Braun Care Style 7 ironing system.

Third official award. The third-place designer will receive a professional gift from the brand Braun –the Braun Care Style 7 ironing system.

The Serhiy Yermakov Special Prize for the use of craftsmanship – as a recognition of the skill and uniqueness of each thing. The Fondy payment platform became a partner of this award.

Serhiy Yermakov is a well-known Ukrainian designer who passed away in 2021. The media called him a couturier. He called himself a “tailor.”

Serhiy Yermakov dedicated his life to the profession, at one time he received an invitation from the president of the Haute Couture Syndicate to visit Paris and an invitation from Hillary Clinton to do a show in the USA.

The designer created dresses exclusively in a single copy using a lot of craftsmanship. In 2006, Serhiy Yermakov was named “Pride of the Nation.”

The organizing committee of the “LOOK into the future” contest in honor of the memory of the talented Ukrainian designer decided to launch a special award – an award for a designer whose collection uses a lot of craftsmanship.
