BCEFW x UFW SS23

Budapest Central European Fashion Week joined the “Support Ukrainian Fashion” Initiative of Ukrainian Fashion Week. As part of the cooperation, on September 3-4, during the 10th BCEFW, seven Ukrainian designers will introduce their collections: GUDU, DARJA DONEZZ, LISABO, KIR KHARTLEY, SIDLETSKIY, STARCHAK and YADVIGA NETYKSHA. POUSTOVIT and AISENBERG DENIM brands will be presented in the showroom.

“The Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency is constantly striving to support regional designers and strengthen relations between neighbouring countries. Humanitarian aid is especially important to us, so we definitely wanted to help Ukrainian designers present their collections to the global fashion community during the 10th BCEFW. We help them present themselves to an international audience, as they will not be able to show their collections in their homeland this season due to the war in Ukraine. As at previous events, we expect guests from all over the world, which will be a great opportunity to expand the brands’ international connections,” comments Anita Forintosh-Shuks, Deputy Director General of the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency.

On September 3, GUDU and DARJA DONEZZ will introduce their collections at the 10th BCEFW within individual shows.
On September 4, STARCHAK, KIR KHARTLEY, SIDLETSKIY, LISABO and YADVIGA NETYKSHA will introduce the SS23 collections within the joint show. In addition to the fashion shows in the Museum of Fine Arts, the creations of designers will be shown in several locations in the city, so that everyone can familiarize themselves with the new collections of brands. The POUSTOVIT and AISENBERG DENIM collections will be presented in a closed showroom for international buyers.

“We are very proud that despite any circumstances and cataclysms, Ukrainian Fashion Week has not missed a single season in its 25-year history. We have now launched the “Support Ukrainian Fashion” Initiative to support Ukrainian designers and ensure the presence of their new collections on international catwalks. Today, fashion weeks in 9 countries support Ukrainian designers and Ukrainian Fashion Week.
We are deeply grateful to The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency and Budapest Central European Fashion Week for the support and special conditions they provided to Ukrainian designers. Fashion has a unique power to stand for human rights, diversity and freedom. Today, fashion shows humanity and support,” says Iryna Danylevska, founder and CEO of Ukrainian Fashion Week.

This will not be the first collaboration between HFDA and UFW: as part of the professional relationship between the institutions, Ukrainian designers are once again participating in BCEFW in Budapest and Hungarian talents have been previously showing their collections in Kyiv, but this season’s partnership will be the most extensive.
