Ukrainian Fashion Week FW25-26: Through the Lens of Liza Prykhodko

Fashion photography is about stories born behind the scenes—in the chaos of preparation, the whirlwind of quick changes, and the final touches of makeup artists. Liza Prykhodko, a photographer returning to Ukrainian Fashion Week for the second time since the full-scale war began, understands this better than anyone.

This season, her images found their way onto the pages of METAL Magazine (view the feature) and Flanelle Magazine (see the photos).

“I love shooting backstage. I love being there because it’s a space where nothing is perfect. It’s where mistakes turn into creative decisions. This time, I wanted to be with a small black camera—the one that captured these imperfect shots, embodying the essence of what happens behind the runway,” says Liza.

Her photographs are more than just a documentary record of the fashion process—they capture emotions, movement, and fleeting moments that weave the true magic of the fashion backstage. And within these frames lies the very spirit of contemporary fashion.
