UFW SS25: Honoring Fashion Industry Heroes through Creative Resistance

As part of the Creative Resistance art installation at Ukrainian Fashion Week SS25, the “Portrait Gallery of Defenders” was unveiled to honor those from the fashion industry who have taken up arms to defend Ukraine. This gallery pays tribute to designers, tailors, costume artists, fashion photographers, brand directors, models, and others now serving as soldiers, combat medics, and paramedics in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The exhibition serves as a thank you to those who have contributed to the development of Ukrainian fashion and continue to fight for the country’s future, even at the cost of their lives.

The installation aims to honor the contributions of those who left their studios and workshops to protect their country, now serving not only through their creative inspiration but also through their bravery and sacrifice.

Recognizing that the return of Ukrainian Fashion Week would be impossible without the heroic resistance of Ukraine’s defenders, the fashion industry has made its contribution to strengthening the country’s defense capabilities. UFW SS25 set an ambitious charitable goal — to raise 4,003,242 UAH for equipment needed by the palliative care department of the Svyatenko Rehabilitation Clinic in the village of Tsybli, Kyiv region. The NGO “YANKO” is responsible for managing funds and procuring the necessary equipment. This initiative underscores the importance of supporting those on the frontlines and serves as a reminder of the deep connection between fashion, society, and our struggle for freedom.

We call on everyone to join the UFW SS25 initiative and donate to support the palliative care department by contributing any amount to the fund.
