UFW SS25: v o z i a n o v  presentation

The  v o z i a n o v  collection to be presented at UFW SS 25 has a distinctly local character. The collection, called “in apocalypse,” emerged in the context of present-day Kyiv, which is characterized by a unique blend of war and creativity. This includes air raid alarms and symphony concerts, funerals of war victims and book presentations, power outages, and movie premieres, as well as volunteering and corruption, intense hatred, and unconditional love. Living in these circumstances, we discovered that a full-fledged life is still possible. It’s important to note that the collection was not created for commercial purposes; it aimed to capture our current state using the language of fashion. When designing the collection, we imposed certain restrictions on ourselves, such as using only existing materials, including leftover textiles, and refraining from purchasing new fabrics. The fabric for each dress in the collection was created as a separate panel that reflects the time and circumstances. Other restrictions were the result of objective reasons, such as power cuts in Kyiv. Therefore, instead of ironing, we often used pressing. Other times, the fabrics’ edges were left untreated, and some parts were glued, etc. Furthermore, all pieces in the collection were created according to the principles of NoBody fashion, meaning that we did not use the body as a pattern for creating the cuts.

This collection is limited. At certain times, there is a need to be very concise. There is no time for excess.
