UFW SS25: PASKAL presentation

Wild-growing, tender, unique. For the new collection «XII», Julie Paskal draws inspiration from a Ukrainian flower head wreath, transformed into exquisite hand-crafted dresses. Each design represents a certain flower—a delicate creature and a mighty symbol of life and rebirth.

In Ukrainian folklore and ancient beliefs, every plant had its own power and meaning. Yarrow stood for independence and strength, while Voloshka was typically used in rituals for love and successful marriage. Forget-me-not—a romantic flower for a date—rhymes with unforgettable dresses. Flowers and herbs can cure and poison, supporting the narrative of life, death, and rebirth, essential for PASKAL collections.

Exploring the 12 flowers from a head wreath, Julie presents a poetical, coherent collection, a blend of her personal vision and the inherent elements of Ukrainian visual DNA. «XII» is an ode to the flowers of the Ukrainian steppes, the Crimean Mountains, and the vast Carpathians. It’s about being strongly connected to your roots and feeling the power of generations, nature, and earth. And, for sure, it’s about being yourself, having a desire to express your authenticity, to be bold and heard. Let yourself bloom. The flowers are your second skin.

By wrapping ourselves in a wearable bouquet, we contact our own nature, life-giving, unparalleled, and healing. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in your heart, as well.
