UFW SS25: Gaptuvalnya presentation
The Ukrainian brand Gaptuvalnya preserves, reinterprets, and integrates Ukrainian ethnic motifs into a modern context. The new wedding drop “VÍNO” pays tribute to Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage while celebrating love and marriage. The collection features traditional folk costume elements such as the kalamaykovyi belt, waxed wreath accessories, and the bridal coat “guglya.” It includes six pieces: five dress variations of different lengths and a pantsuit, all adorned with white-on-white embroidery, highlighting the contemporary character of the designs.
The name “VÍNO” derives from an ancient Ukrainian tradition of giving dowry, symbolizing prosperity, mutual respect, and a woman’s independent financial status within the family. The collection’s launch was dedicated by the brand’s founder, Nataliia Herhelyuk, to her grandmother’s birthday, whose appreciation of folk heritage and ability to pass on this interest to her granddaughter became the foundation of the brand’s creation.
