UFW SS25: DARJA DONEZZ show
The previous collection by designer Daria Donets was showcased in Kyiv just days before the full-scale war began, making the theme of shells symbolic. The main theme was Sandro Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus,” but now, after her experiences, Donets has chosen another of Botticelli’s works, “Primavera.” According to legend, three graces appeared on Mount Olympus dressed in ethereal garments, dancing so gracefully that everyone was enveloped in joy.
“I wanted to convey uniqueness using materials handcrafted from wool and silk, which no modern machines can replicate. Only human hands, materials given by nature, and the invisible beam of creativity and imagination can achieve this. The collection includes several such dresses,” the designer shared.
The silhouettes are distinctly light and airy, ranging from fitted draped dresses to more voluminous styles reminiscent of Greek togas and Roman tunics. The color palette combines black, white, brown with yellow, pink, and turquoise. In the prints and decorations, Donets continues to use a variety of shell motifs, a hallmark of her designs.
