MY THEATRE by Dariia Bila at Paris Fashion Week

On March 6, Ukrainian designer Dariia Bila presented her brand MY THEATRE by Dariia Bila in Paris during Paris Fashion Week. For the Parisian audience, the brand was introduced for the first time through a retrospective show that combined five archival collections with the presentation of a new line.

The event unfolded as an immersive performance at the intersection of fashion, art, and theatre — an artistic language shaped through 17 years of the designer’s theatrical work. In this space, clothing becomes a character, and the runway transforms into a living stage.

The evening opened with a live orchestral performance featuring excerpts from Modelle by Hans Zender. The start of the show was marked by a short stage episode featuring actress Larysa Rusnak of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.

The audience then witnessed a retrospective of looks from previous collections, revealing the evolution of MY THEATRE. A particularly powerful moment of the evening was the musical performance by Onuka, which created a striking sonic landscape for the show.

Handcraft remains at the heart of the brand: custom-made buttons, intricate embroidery, silk, velvet, brocade, and wool — dozens of hours of craftsmanship embodied in every look. The evening culminated with the presentation of the new collection — Collection No. 6.

Collection No. 6 continues MY THEATRE’s core philosophy — the conscious creation of clothing with a focus on craftsmanship, detail, texture, and emotional depth.

The inspiration behind the collection was the opera The Tales of Hoffmann, for which Dariia Bila previously designed stage costumes. The story of love, illusion, and a woman’s inner world became the foundation of the collection’s concept.

“This show is about emotions and the search for identity. It became a retrospective of MY THEATRE — a journey through collections, performances, doubts, and joys that shaped the brand. In the finale, we present a new collection dedicated to hope. Because even in the darkest night, dawn always comes,” noted Dariia Bila.
