FW26–27: Nazarelli Show

The Nazarelli brand presented its FW26-27 collection, developed during one of the most difficult winters for the entire country. The contrast between external challenges and an irrepressible desire to live inspired designer Anna Nazaryan to create looks where visual restraint is combined with sensuality and drama.

“I thought a lot about Ukrainian women, who today appear almost steel-like, yet inside each of them emotions are in constant motion,” the designer shares. “For me, this is where true femininity lies — not in display, but in an inner state of composure and awareness of one’s own strength.” In the collection, these reflections are expressed through the architecture of silhouettes — structured jackets, pronounced shoulder lines, and stand-up collars that visually elongate the figure, establish a vertical axis, and seem to discipline the body to keep the back straight and face the world’s challenges with courage.

The visual starting point for these lines was the work of legendary American minimalist sculptor Richard Serra. He worked with metal — revealing dozens of shades of grey — which became the dominant tone for Nazarelli as well. The interplay of geometry, where fluid lines contrast with sharp precision, is also inspired by Serra’s objects, particularly Fulcrum. This sculpture consists of five steel plates leaning against one another, leaving only a narrow gap and an unknown space ahead. Similar “gaps” became visual accents on the collection’s monolithic jackets: red inserts that open in movement, symbolizing an emotional impulse and the enduring will to live against all odds.

Yet behind restraint, emotions often remain hidden. In Nazarelli’s FW26-27 collection, they emerge through semi-transparent textures, ultra-light fabrics, and delicate slits, reminding us that even the strongest woman carries an inner flame. “Working with transparency has already become a signature of Nazarelli,” the designer adds. “For me, the contrast between dense construction and fragile material highlights a woman’s ability to embody femininity and strength, doubt and protection, vulnerability and resilience. True beauty lies precisely in this inner conflict between stability and change.”
