Elena Burenina is a Ukrainian fashion brand based on the principles of minimalism and deconstruction.
History
Ukrainian designer Elena Burenina founded a brand with the same name in 2006 as a third-year student of Kiev National University of Technology and Design. In the autumn of the same year, Elena received the Grand Prix at the All-Ukrainian competition for young designers “A Look in the Future” for her collection “Ambivalent archetype”.
In 2007, Elena Burenina debuted on the podium of Ukrainian Fashion Week as a part of New Names program. The SS 2008 collection received enormous positive feedback from the international press. The editorials about the show were published in France, Italy, Spain, Japan, Korea and Brazil.
In 2008, Elena Burenina’s collection “A Soul in the Megapolis” received another Grand Prix at the international fashion festival in Italy. In spring of the same year, Elena Burenina participated in Washington DC Fashion Week by invitation of the Ukrainian ambassador to Washington DC.
In 2009, Elena Burenina won the TV-project “Pro Fashion” (an analogue of the US show “Runway”), and received the opportunity to study at London’s Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.
In 2013, Elena tried herself in a new role – as an interior designer. She designed the space of the Kiev boutique “Corner Concept Store”. The minimalist black-and-white interior with a huge wall panel of doll-heads positively surprised not only fashion insiders, but famous architects, too.
In 2016, the Elena Burenina brand was the official fashion partner of the Odessa International Film Festival.
In 2017, the Elena Burenina team designed the outfits for the leading international song contest “Eurovision”. In autumn of the same year, Elena Burenina received the “Best Designer” award from ELLE magazine.
In autumn 2018, following the invitation of the Austrian ambassador to Ukraine, the Elena Burenina brand show opened Vienna Fashion Week.
In December 2018, Elena Burenina opened Burenina store No. 1 – her first mono-brand boutique in Kyiv at Bolsunovskaya street, 21-23.
In 2019, the Elena Burenina brand launched a full-fledged men’s line.
By the end of 2020, the brand’s product line was enriched with jewellery. The iconic pearl earrings, brooches and hearts are now made of silver and gold.
In 2021, Elena Burenina brand has been celebrating its 15th anniversary. A grand retrospective show commenced the series of celebrations of the occasion. The chief editors of ELLE and Cosmopolitan, it-girls, other celebrities, friends and clients of the brand came to the podium together with the models.
Elena Burenina clothes are worn by Katya Osadchaya, Masha Efrosinina, Tina Karol, Max Barskikh, Yulia Sanina, Sonya Plakidyuk, Alla Kostromicheva, Sergey Nikityuk, Nadya Dorofeeva, Victoria Tigipko, Timur Miroshnichenko, Lida Lee, Alloise, Jerry Heil and other celebrities.
