UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK: "THE MOST IMPORTANT is SUPPORTING THE FUTURE OF THE FASHION INDUSTRY"
Tuesday, 23 July 2019
Ukrainian Fashion Week creates more and more projects to support young talents and their development. One year ago two new names were opened - the winner of the 1st International Young Designers Contest-2018 Carol Ott (Estonia) and Epson Digital Fashion-2018 winner Kateryna Gella (Ukraine).
“The experience in IED-Istituto Europeo di Design has been really good. I have had really good lectures from the professionals of their field. Since I chose marketing for beginners as a course, I got a lot of new ideas and inspiration for my own brand creation also. Besides school, I have also had time on weekends to see around Italy, collect inspiration, and analyze Italian culture. The journey has been amazing! The victory of IYDC has really helped me lot as a young designer! Thanks to that, I could rent studio with fellow designers and buy machines and other things for my brand development”, - Carol Ott, the Grand Prix winner of the International Young Designers Contest-2018.
“I am so grateful to Epson Digital Fashion project team. Participation in this competition is an invaluable experience, development and fulfillment of dreams. I studied clothing design at Ukrainian university, but always dreamed of becoming a student abroad. By participating in and winning the Epson Digital Fashion Contest, I was able to compare both experiences. I chose a 3-week Fashion Marketing course in IED-Istituto Europeo di Design. This course gives you basic knowledge of fashion marketing. You understand what strategy to choose and how to create your own unique story. Teachers are true professionals, everyone has extensive practical experience, which is why the lectures are so interesting, comprehensible and useful. I liked the atmosphere of freedom and care at IED-Istituto Europeo di Design. The studing was held in Milan - the best city to get acquainted with the fashion, so for me, many excursions (to museums, multi-brand shops, showrooms) in the schedule of classes were very important. I can't help but mention the huge library of IED-Istituto Europeo di Design, which consists of books and magazines related to fashion, clothing design, marketing, culture, art - this is the place where I rested after lectures. I especially want to thank IED Milan for their hospitality! ", - Kateryna Gella, Grand Prix winner of the Epson Digital Fashion-2018.
