50 designers, 39 shows, 10 presentations, 4 special projects, 6 lectures and public talks. Ukrainian Fashion Week is the place where the most influential players of the fashion industry of Ukraine meet.

Ukrainian Fashion Week is the place where Ukrainian becomes world-wide
This autumn Ukrainian Fashion Week team has presented the project FASHION EXPERIMENT 01 in New York and Tokyo. Both large-scale projects aimed at presenting Ukrainian designers to influences in world fashion cities took place during the official Fashion Weeks.
Spaces of galleries became "centers of research" - Ukrainian Fashion Research Lab – with specifically developed graphic design, sound design and VR. Guests had to "explore" Ukrainian fashion. The main message of the project is "Ukrainian fashion is so varied, unpredictable, original that it can not be simply consumed. It must firstly be explored." Another important mission of the project was to unite the representatives of various creative industries, demonstrating their high professional level. FASHION EXPERIMENT 01 presented residents of UFW with SS19 collections – bobkova., DZHUS, FROLOV, Ruslan Baginskiy, the COAT by Katya Silchenko, Valery Kovalska, Yelizavetta Volosovska.
One of the main missions of the Ukrainian Fashion Week is to develop Ukrainian fashion and to promote Ukrainian fashion and culture in the world.
Ukrainian Fashion Week continues to develop real and fruitful cooperation with the international professional community to create new opportunities for designers and to promote Ukrainian designers in the world.
Every season, UFW Organizing Committee invites editors and photographers from leading world media, stylists and buyers to Kyiv to work with designers-participants of Ukrainian Fashion Week.
This season Ukrainian Fashion Week Organizing Committee invited editors from Business of Fashion (UK), Vogue Italia, Fucking Young! (Spain), Harpers Bazaar (UK), NOWFASHION (France), VEIN Magazine (Spain), Supremeye (Belgium); buyers from ASOS (UK), Uggla (Japan); photographers from Getty Images, NSS Magazine (Spain), Runway Manhattan (USA), Street Style Planet Earth (UK).
Future of world fashion
Last season Ukrainian Fashion Week proclaimed “sustainability” as one of its strategic priorities. Initiatives of Ukrainian Fashion Week to promote sustainable fashion are supported by both Ukrainian designers and UFW partners.
In FW19-20 season Ukrainian Fashion Week and Sustainable Fashion Pad - the first Ukrainian platform for sustainable fashion - have created a fundamentally new project BE SUSTAINABLE!, which will unite both fashion insiders and visitors of the Week in the interactive space. During February 1, 5 workshops, lectures, public talks will be held in a space of 120 sq.m., as well as outfits of collections of designers who support the principles of sustainable fashion will be exhibited.
Participants of the ongoing installation will be Ali Saulidi, BEVZA, D.F.F, Flow the Label, Ksenia Schnaider, MARSALA, RCR Khomenko, Re-beau, ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich, Synchrodogs, Yana CHERVINSKA.
Lectures, workshops and public talks will be merged into a separate program BE SUSTAINABLE! Each event can be visited by pre-registration on the site fashionweek.ua.
The workshops will be conducted by designers of Ksenia Schnaider, MARSALA, RCR Khomenko X Laska Charity Store, Re-beau and ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich.
ISKO X KSENIA SCHNAIDER Public Talk

Within the platform BE SUSTAINABLE! brand KSENIA SCHNAIDER and ISKO - the Turkish manufactory, known for its ethical attitude to nature and production - will conduct a joint Public Talk. Ksenia and Anton Schneider together with Asli Olcar (Visionary Minds Senior Executive), Ebru Ozkucuk Guler (Senior Sustainability & CSR Executive), Elena Faleschini (Global Field Marketing Manager) will talk about the unique technology that the brand Ksenia Schnaider uses in its production. Ksenia Schnaider is one of the world-famous brands that ISKO has been co-operating for the third time. The first joint Public Talk Ksenia Schnaider and ISKO took place in Milan during the Milan Fashion Week.

Also within BE SUSTAINABLE platform! a lecture "The Way to sustainable living: Perception, Acceptance and Practice" will take place. Daria Marusik, a co-founder and ideologue of the first online store of sustainable fashion Soon Store, coordinator of the Fashion Revolution initiative in Ukraine, Sustainable Fashion Pad ambassador, the author of telegram channel Sustainably Speaking and an independent contributor will talk about her experience in Sustainable living.

Oksana Levchenya’s projest “Nonexistent tribe”

During five days the project of the artist and founder of the Olk Manufactory brand Oksana Levchenya will present the exhibition - "Nonexistent tribe". It included exhibits made of woven rugs, woven upcycling tapestries (made from defective socks of the Zhytomyr stocking factory) and video installation.
The artist describes his project as follows: "A nonexistent tribe is each of us. Every person is a separate tribe, and humanity is a community of individuals who are not united in additional social groups by nationality, profession, race, belief or religion. Individualities have much more in common with each other than groups, as individuals have an understanding of the problems of the whole species. Appearing categories of larger scale, there is an ability to consider "over-problems" and universal human tasks: ecology, aging, illness, ethics, morality. The task of the modern man is to expand the understanding of his own-stranger to the limits of the whole of mankind, to go beyond the scope of its group, its nationality, its state and gender - and to find common ground for the whole species, reconciled with the differences of "neighboring tribes".

The brand will present an art installation that will become a visual metaphor for the idea of the existence of two worlds in a man - visible and hidden. The idea of the project: each of us, in addition to the well-known social roles, carries a particle of the greatness of this world its past and future, known and possible, defined and changed.
Bob Basset’s x Hamlet Zinkovskyi presentation

Artists Bob Basset and Hamlet Zinkovskyi will show a joint project "Subjects".
They are well known abroad. Bob Basset's works were shown in London, Paris, New York, Seoul, and Beijing. Hamlet represented Ukraine at the Venice Biennale in 2013, exhibited in Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Paris, Batumi, Klaipeda, London, Vienna, Graz, Warsaw, Poznan.
Art Studio Bob Basset is known for its collaboration with Givenchy fashion house, stylist Panos Yapanis, RSA Films and actress Elizabeth Banks, Metallica bands, Slipknot, Korn, singer Avril Lavigne. Bob Basset works in techno-romanticism and creates art objects from various materials, first of all - from leather.
Hamlet Zinkovskyi works in a variety of genres and techniques, at the intersection of various arts and in collaborations, but primarily known for his street art work. In 2017 he illustrated the book by Sergei Zhadan "Antenna".
"Subjects" - the first exhibition of Hamlet and Bob Basset, but not their first collaboration. In 2018, artists took part in an international project in Lima (Peru), and in 2016 they presented their joint video work at the Secret Room in Paris at the ADDICTION A L'OEUVRE festival.
Ordinary fashion items, mirrors, scissors, masks appear in the "Subjects" project as artistically redeveloped of so-called ready made art objects.

In the new collection of the Domanof brand, the designer reflects on how thoughtless consumption leads to the disappearance of the majestic nature that the Universe carefully created for billions of years, and the fast fashion leads to the fact that a person is inferior to trends. The presentation features works of Korean photographer Heil Kwon. Photos transferred to banners are compiled with already used denim, which emphasizes on the importance of recycling.

Sergey Ermakov presents a new collection “Through obstacles to the sun”. "Everything you will see is not a thing and not a fashion. These are art works created by hands and from the heart. As the darkest night before dawn, and dresses made of black velvet, silk and wool frame the dress in the center - the image of Ukraine. Sunny, with a gold baroque embroidery, it represents the impending Renaissance. "
This season Ukrainian Fashion Week pays special attention to Ukrainian fashion for men. The February 4 schedule will include several shows of male brands and a special space presenting Ukrainian men's brands. The partner of MEN'S SPACE will be the FALKE brand – the world’s leader in men’s socks production.
The day will start from a round-table of designers working for men's brands and media representatives: "Competitiveness: how Ukrainian brands of men's clothing can compete with Ukrainian mass-market brands and luxury brands." The moderator of the discussion will be Oleksiy Nilov, Chief Editor of L'Officiel Hommes UA.
In the schedule of the day are shows of SONYA MONINA, ROUSSIN BY SOFIA ROUSINOVICH, IDOL, DASTISH FANTASTISH and presentations of CIRCUL, ALXndr LEN, FALKE, INDPOSHIV, RITO in MEN'S SPACE. The day will end with a party for fashion insiders.
This season during 5 days of Ukrainian Fashion Week the showroom in Mystetskyi Arsenal will act representing 10 brands of footwear and accessories: COCORICO, DEMMYVIK, GRIE, GUASH, HELENA ROMANOVA, HONCHARENKO, LONA PRIST, OSTEL, SNESHANA NEKH, YASTREB.
The space #Showroom will have its own unique concept, designed by Maksym Kamynin (IAM Architecture studio). Traditionally #Showroom space is designed in partnership with Domus Design magazine - Ukrainian magazine with more than 15 years of history; its mission is to develop Ukrainian design in all areas.
