Ukrainian DESIGNERS join THE FUR FREE RETAILER PROGRAM
The UAnimals humanist movement became the first Ukrainian organization that joint to the Fur Free Alliance, which is an international coalition of 46 animal protection organizations all over the world. So Ukrainian designers will get an oppoprtunity to join the programs of Fur Free Retailer.
The most popular project of the animal protection coalition is Fur Free Retailer. It recognizes and supports retailers who have committed, in writing, to a no-fur policy. Today, there are 903 players in the world's fashion industry from Versace, Armani and Gucci to H & M and Zara. Until now, there were no designers and retailers from Ukraine on the list.
"Fur is a cruel animal killing! Wild animals are caught in cruel traps and they die in torments," explained their position UAnimals. "In fur farms, animals are kept in terrible conditions, and they end their lives in hellish suffering. Generally, to preserve the pelts animals are killed by cruel methods, such as gassing or electric shock.
In European countries, animal protectors for decades have been fighting for commitment of no-fur policy by the fashion industry. As a result, some countries have taken serious steps towards humanity. For example, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Austria, because of the cruelty of the fur production banned fur farming at the state level. In Ukraine, at the moment, is collecting signatures under a petition for the fur farms prohibition.
To join the worldwide Fur Free Retailer program, Ukrainian designers and stores should sign a short deal, and all details and clarifications can be obtained from the UAnimals page and by mail email@example.com.
On the UAnimals initiative, the All-Ukrainian March for animal rights for the first time passed in Ukraine in 2017. 17 cities of Ukraine joined the humanist movement: from Lviv to Kharkov, from Ivano-Frankivsk to Odessa. Only in Kyiv more than 5 thousand people joint the march.
