DZHUS brand, set up in 2010 by Kyiv designer and stylist Iryna Dzhus, presented to the fashion community the campaign of fall-winter collection, shown earlier within Paris Fashion Week.
The concept of TOTALITARIUM Fall Winter 2015-16 collection is based on the technocrat cult, propagated by the totalitarian regimes of the early 20th century. The epoch’s monumental heritage is filled up with the festive spirit of industrialization. The esthetics, subdued to the ideology, pays the tribute to the heroine from the working class – strict and pure and her thoughts and deeds.
The items of the collection are characterized by strictness of silhouettes, technical textures and achromatic color family. Geometric folds, clips and plisse interpret architectural elements of constructivism and of a so-called totalitarian classicism.
The designer uses the kinds of cotton, which are typically used for uniforms, as well as materials, typical for the functional fashion of the epoch: woolen knitted fabric and felt. The unfinished hemlines and seams with elastic on the upper side accentuate the technical nature of the items.
