Laboratory of Industrial Design - «llil»
On Wednesday 14, within Ukrainian Fashion Week, on the territory of Mystetskyi Arsenal (Kyiv) there was held a presentation of #12x12x12 by "llil Design" charity project aimed at support of the family of film director Oleg Sentsov. The Project was presented together with Iryna Danylevska and Dmytro Alliluyev. The object of 12х12х12 project is a Director's Chair.
On a wall of Ukrainian Fashion Week location there was presented a special installation of 12 Director-style chairs, developed together with Ukrainian designers. The author of the Project, “llil Design” studio, change stereotype ideas about a well-known object using up-to-date esthetic means and materials. New designer solutions were offered by Sasha Kanevski, Anton Belinsky, Masha Reva, Yulia Pascal, Ivan Frolov, Ksenia Schneider, Svitlana Bevza, Dina Linnyk, Dasha Lagenberg and Yasya Khomenko. The main role in the collection is played by FREEDOM chair created by “llil Design”. FREEDOM chair is “dedicated” to Ukrainian heroic film director, unfairly condemned to 20 years of imprisonment in a Russian prison. Symbolic chair will be presented as a charity lot online and all the funds raised from its sale will be directed to support Sentsov’s family – his wife and two children.
The project’s global idea can be summarized as “co-existence and interaction of a person and object design”. The authors of the project offered to try to understand who we are, how we communicate with each other, how we interact with objects around us, and finally, how the objects around us influence our life.
"1+1" TV channel acts as a partner of this Project, supporting the idea of its author – architect Dmytro Alliluyev. Solomia Vitvitska mentioned that "1+1" channel and TSN news programme always try to support benevolent initiatives of Ukrainian patriots with a strong spirit.
“Remember and support. It is important not to forget our audacious and brave heroes, to remember their heroic deeds for the sake of Ukraine, to create up-to-date informational reasons to speak about such issues again and again. Ukrainian film director Oleg Sentsov became the inspiration and the heart of our project even been 1000 km away from here. Ukrainian designers are inspired by his heroic deed and his audacious position of a citizen of Ukraine and his strength, as they understand that he has been doing a great deal in spite of the circumstances. Now we can see such a bright large-scale project by talented and stylish Ukrainians, and there is no any doubt that it will be successful and the names of its participants have already been coming to the history of contemporary art, fashion and design. This energy, our willpower, our words and our actions will at least slightly help the family of Oleg Sentsov to survive through this trial”. - underlined Solomia Vitvitska.
