"Ukrainian Baroque" is a new project by Polina Veller, which is the next step in growing the designer's interest to art history. Polina takes on the basis of the drama and achievements of the Baroque era and researches its influence on art and, in particular, on the Ukrainian cultural landscape. Today, the phenomenon of the "Ukrainian Baroque" of the XVII-XVIII centuries is becoming the subject of artistic rethinking by Ukrainian authors. For example, a visual language of Oleksandr Roitburd – modern Ukrainian artist. His artworks - portraits of philosophers dressed in festive baroque costumes - attracted the attention of Polina Veller. Fragmenting these artworks, the designer transmitted them to the modern material - banner fabric and plastic. The main colors of the collection are white, deep blue, red and gold. So the past breaks into the present and, it seems, sometimes drowns the future.
