Presentation of KARAVAY Fall Winter 2013-14 Collection
Tuesday, 02 April 2013
On March 29 designer Iryna Karavay presented KARAVAY FW 2013-14 collection. The show was held in a renewed KARAVAY boutique studio. National ethnic motives were the leading accents of the collection. They delicately finished every look presented by designer.
“We realize that usual exploitation of ethnic motives looks too much mannered and unnatural. We rather cite traditional techniques, work with the general principles of decorative patterns and color combinations and implement them in up-to-date silhouettes and façons”, - Iryna Karavay.
In her collection the designer used contrast combinations of woven and woven fabric. Transparent silk organza, muslin and net fabric combined with boucle and delicate wool, eco-leather and transparent laqué underline tenderness and mystery of the looks of the collection. Flowers, ribbons and metal beads incrustation reminded sleeve and neck embroidery of ancient vyshyvanka (national Ukrainian blouse), which was believed to have protective powers. Masterpiece shoes developed for the collection were worth special attention: the looks were finished with fabulous shoes decorated with silken flowers.
