FASHION TECH UKRAINE PLATFORM WITHIN UKRAINIAN FASHION WEEK
This season the Fashion Tech Ukraine platform will focus on responsible consumption in fashion and ways to solve problems triggered by fast fashion, with innovative technology solutions.
The following projects will be presented within Fashion Tech Ukraine:
Art project Shape of Living
Maryna Loseva – a founder Ukrainian Fashion Education Group - will present her own art project Shape of Living to attract attention to new forms and ways of human existence. The author created for her installation clothes made from used denim, as a prototype for the decoration, she recreated a picture of the Dnypro, which was taken from space.
Installation of Orange Fiber sustainable fabric
Orange Fiber is an Italian company founded in 2014 by two students, Andriano Santanocito and Enrica Arena, who created an exquisite sustainable fabrics from citrus juice by-products that would otherwise be thrown away.
Creation of tissue began with the idea to create a dense cloth of citrus, or rather of the citrusjuice by-products that remains after their squeezing, because the amount of exceeds is one million tons per year, and this is only in Italy. Fabric, which is very similar to silk,. Silk-like fabrics could be painted and printed on. The new fiber does not require additional production, but is an industrial by-product, creating a company that satisfies the growing need for cellulose and retains natural resources.
Installion of SoonStore
SoonStore is the first project of a conscious retail in Ukraine. This is a multi-branded online boutique featuring branded clothing that meets the criteria of responsible fashion both from a social point of view to an environmental one.
The main purpose of the founders of the project is to open a new conscious consumer experience for Ukrainian customers and to tell about the principles of Sustainable and Slow Fashion.
Careful production, environmental materials, fair and safe working conditions for employees, and honest pricing from the beginning of collections creation to the final consumer are the values of fashion future that the Soon Store team promotes.
Presentation of MODOZA.COM
This season, the MODOZA.COM online retailer supports the Fashion Tech Ukraine platform and presents a unique image creation service, which is another example of using artificial intelligence in the fashion industry. The service demonstrates how new technologies change our lives and promote responsible consumption, helping make an unmistakable choice while shopping online.
The True Cost movie screening

The True Cost is a groundbreaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing? The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. Featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.
Installation of GUASH
In Fashion Tech Ukraine, the brand GUASH represents a new collection of jewelry and a collection of "Confusing Thoughts" clothing, created on the principle of transformations. Anna Gulpe was inspired by a modern world in which a person does not imagine his/her life without social networks and depends on the latest technology. The designer created an art collection of jewelry, headdresses, masks made using computer hardware.
Installation of ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich
ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich team tries to draw attention to the social and environmental problems of our time. One of the vectors is Sustainable fashion. The brand creates wicker backpacks, bags, shoes made of polyethylene bags, "rebirths" old things in the new changing the cut, adding new materials. Within Ukrainian Fashion Week SS19 brand represents a collection the main theme of which is "Responsible Consumption." The purpose is to draw attention to the problem of plastic contamination. In the new season, the brand ROUSSIN by Sofia Rousinovich begins plastic bags recycling - in the new collection SS19 you can see things made of polyethylene bags.
Ukrainian Fashion Week is always open to cooperation with fashiontech-projects, which serve as "agents of change" - not only realizing transformations on the market, but also forming social capital.
