The Winners of Bazaar Fashion Forward Share Their Impressions about Studies in London College of Fashion
On September 8 Jean Gritsfeldt and Katya Pyzhova, the winners of “fashion designer” and “fashion journalist” nominations within Bazaar Fashion Forward 2013, came back home after a 10-days-long trip to the capital of the UK. Harper’s Bazaar shares their impressions.
A trip to the heart of the UK for a course at London College of Fashion is one of the prizes from Harper’s Bazaar magazine to the winners of this year Bazaar Fashion Forward contest. Jean Gritsfeldt got a chance to attend an intensive course in creation of new fashion ideas, whereas Katya attended an intensive course in journalism. As both winners – Katya and Jean – admitted, the courses turned out to be even more intensive and interesting than they had been daring to dream.
The course in journalism was performed by Professor Paul Tirny who was offering to the listeners several key topics each day. The listeners of the course had to visit galleries, museums, concept stores etc. They could share their impressions on the topics at the end of the day in a cozy relaxed atmosphere in one of the cafes listening to the comments and advice of their lecturer. The course in design was also much more than listening to the lectures and presupposed the creation of a finished capsule collection.
Jean and Katya had a chance to stay in the apartment next to Broadway Market used before by a renowned face-hunter Ivan Rodik .The winners of Bazaar Fashion Forward contest went for sightseeing to the main places of London and visited the places connected with fashion industry or history. A renowned British blogger Leo (who has already written before about Jean Gritsfeldt’s creations) became a true guide to London nightlife, concept stores, vintage boutiques and art galleries for Jean and Katya.
The winners of Bazaar Fashion Forward will implement all the knowledge, impressions and inspiration brought from London in their common project for Harper’s Bazaar. Jean as a fashion designer will create a capsule collection, whereas Katya as a fashion journalist will prepare a review of the collection. The shootings of this collection will be performed by a fashion photographer Andrey Ivaskiv (one more winner of Bazaar Fashion Forward contest). The readers of the magazine will be able to admire the final result of the collaboration of young Ukrainian talents in one of the autumn issues of Harper’s Bazaar, which will be presented within a party honouring the winners of Bazaar Fashion Forward.
