Ukrainian Fashion Week continued Open Day project and on Oct.3 invited media representatives for “a French toast” to ELENAREVA studio.
For the first time a talented designer Elena Reva invited journalists to her luxurious showroom right in the centre of Kyiv. Eating delicious French toasts in a light relaxed atmosphere Kyiv mass media representatives learned about the most interesting facts of the brand.
The main topic was the brand’s participation at Tranoï Tradeshow exposition.
“We have just come back from Paris, where we presented ELENAREVA brand at Tranoï Tradeshow. The program was really intensive and we have managed to make numerous interesting and useful contacts. I don’t want to tell all the details now, but I can tell that this was not our first visit to Tranoï, as before, during his visit to Ukrainian Fashion Week, David Hadida had already invited us for the previous issue of the exposition”.
According to the designer, the key steps of Ukrainian fashion development have been made within these two years. One can witness a growing interest of the world to Ukrainian fashion; Ukrainian designers show their collections within international expositions and fashion events and are presented all over the world.
As for the development of ELENAREVA brand, the designer has much to boast with.
“By now our brand is presented in several countries only (in Spain for instance), but after our last participation in Tranoï we are planning to develop our geography significantly, but it is our secret for the moment. Surely, everyone has noticed that the greatest demand comes from the East – Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the Emirates. An important role in the brand’s popularization is played by glossy editions, both Ukrainian and international. Our designers have started developing more actively, as fashionistas and fashion players get more information about them”.
As for her collection which will be presented within the 33rd Ukrainian Fashion Week on Oct.13, the designer showed the journalists her invitation for the fashion show depicting a painting by Lada Nakonechna. Again the designer has used the paintings by the artist as prints for her collection.
The designer also commented on the looks of the guests attending fashion shows.
“Ukrainian Fashion Week is the event supposing interesting and remarkable look. It’s very important, as there are no other similar events where one can allow himself to dress this way. It is mostly during Ukrainian Fashion Week events that a great attention is paid to this issue”.
For several seasons already dresses by Elena Reva have been conquering the hearts of fashionistas, have been following down red carpets and even have been turning into prizes for winners of different nominations. Rather often Elena Reva is asked about her plans for couture dresses manufacturing, as well as about her plans for launching ELENAREVA couture line.
“Though our evening dresses call vivid interest and are highly demanded I am not longing to create haute couture collections. Firstly, unfortunately, I don’t see many events demanding haute couture dresses in the wardrobe. I am very concentrated on what we are doing now and I see no sense in de-concentrating, as we have been trying to reach a corresponding stable level of the brand. We would rather start creating pre-collections. All people are different: somebody chooses minimalistic style, others prefer some special effects. Everything should be taken into account and implemented in the collection. For instance, I have created many dresses specially for a concrete show or event, which can hardly be put on by every woman in ordinary life”.
ELENAREVA — is a luxurious womenswear brand specializing on fashionable evening dresses and conceptual dresses.
From 2009 to 2011 Elena Reva was part of OBRANI tandem, which presented 3 collections within Ukrainian Fashion Week. In the beginning of 2012 feeling the necessity to develop creative horizons and to gain European audience the designer founded her own brand ELENAREVA.
Elena Reva presented her first capsule collection “After the Apocalypse” in March 2012 already. The collection was made to highlight the purity and tenderness of women nature. The main features of the collection: light fabrics, pastel colours and powder shades. The collection was created in silk, organza, lace and chiffon. It was highly appraised not only by media representatives and clients, but also by international bloggers. In summer 2012 Elena Reva in tandem with an artist Tatiana Gershuni well known for her stereo-paintings launched a collection of 3-D printed T-shirts in lace.
On October 12, 2012 within Ukrainian Fashion Week collection SS 2013 “Blooming” was presented in collaboration with a participant of contemporary art biennale Alina Yakubenko.
