Review of collections of the 37th UFW. Day 1
Designer Liliya Poustovit was inspired by kids – purity and natural behavior of infants, first emotions and bright memories, children’s laughter. The collection is based on the combination of bright yellow, blue, red color variations with black and white, moderated by the shades of marine scenery. The designer has used naïve and simple drawings – the first words written by a child’s hand in a school copy-book.
Among the basic accents of the collection there are jackets of a hypertrophied volume and delicate silk dresses. The controversial game of the volumes and silhouettes reinterprets the meaningful items – jackets, coats and shirt-dresses. Simple casual items are reborn and acquire a new meaning.
Elena BURENINA SS16
Elena Burenina created her collection in the best traditions of minimalism. Deconstructivism typical for the designer’s collections this time has been complemented with a number of original solutions. The collection is created in exclusively limited diversity of colors – black and white, which are slightly balanced by grey and beige variations. The designer rejected print and decorative elements. The designer introduced only one embellishment of her ascetic catwalk looks – thin ribbon stripes on necks, belts and wrists of the models.
Elena GOLETS SS16
Creating her new collection designer Elena Golets was searching for inspiration in harmonious combination of four nature powers: fire, water, earth and air. These elements create everything existing on this planet. They complement each other and find their reflection in each person’s inner force and sensuality. The designer displayed the water power with the help of a print – stripes and profound navy shades, the earth power – with the help of sandy and grey colour variations and thick textures, the fire power – with the help of ochre and mustard color shades and abstract geometric prints, and the air power – with the help of milky and beige shades and free silhouettes.
Sometimes designer Viktor Anisimov includes women’s and even kid’s looks to his collections. Yet, true connoisseurs and supporters of the designer appreciate his men’s collections most of all. Anisimov favors black color, sport style and jersey. These are the three components which are always present in his collections and which are sometimes accentuated with ironic prints and accessories. From season to season the designer manages to combine the mentioned components in a new way and to make each collection up-to-date.
Nadya DZYAK SS16
New Nadya Dzyak SS16 collection synthesizes the heritage of the western fashion of the 80s-90s of the previous century and the works of Ukrainian artist Maria Korshun. That period can be characterized as the period of substantial changes in the culture and the society: development of informational technologies, outburst of the political correctness and the new Y Generation, as well as new wave of music performers – all those factors significantly influenced the formation of the unique fashion esthetics of that time and set the formation of the digital romantic futurism esthetics, the spirit of which is reflected in the new collection by designer Nadya Dzyak.
Olga Alonova’s new collection is dedicated to the classics of a warm season – romantic trips, water voyages and lightness. The designer gave preference to marine color variations and milky-white color.
Designer Olga Navrotska debuted on Ukrainian Fashion Week catwalk with her collection “A Little Chaos”. The designer created her own “little chaos” with the help of unicorn prints, lavender and willow, as well as sun and moon patterns.
