PARTICIPANTS OF FASHION DNA – UKRAINE 2017-2018 WERE CHOSEN
Ukrainian Fashion Week and British Council continues Fashion DNA-Ukraine programme aimed to identify, celebrate and support emerging talented fashion designers in Ukraine.
This year Fashion DNA: Ukraine aims to equip emerging Ukrainian designers with skills and knowledge of sales, particularly e-commerce, and apply this knowledge in a creative context through a digital project.
That’s why the head of the choosing process of programme participants became Emma Pull - the womenswear buyer of Farfetch (UK). She interviewed designers applied to take part in this project. The jury board included Anna Bubnova (British Council in Ukraine), Aleksandra Dimitrievich (Ukrainian Fashion Week), Dmytro Yevenko (Asthik), Olena Pashchenko (Helen Marlen), Anna Pashchenko (Suitster). As a result of personal interviews 7 participants were chosen:
FROLOV, GASANOVA, ROUSSIN, ELENAREVA, Kir-Khartley, MARSALA, Jean Gritsfeldt. They will join an intensive business development programme led by UK mentors covering the following topics in relation to e-commerce: business planning, sales strategies, costing & pricing and merchandising.
Interview was held in CEO Club Ukraine – the main business club in Ukraine that brings together leaders of local and international companies for development,communication and cooperation.

Fashion DNA Ukraine was established in 2015 with the aims of identifying, supporting and celebrating emerging Ukrainian talents and to create links between them and the UK fashion industry. During three year of the programme existence more than 20 Ukrainian brand got an opportunity to develop their companies, to improve running of their businesses and to present their collections in International Fashion Showcase within London Fashion Week.
The part of Fashion DNA-Ukraine is promotion of “Best newcomer of the year” winner. The award determines the best new fashion designer of the year. The winner of Best Fashion Awards 2017 in “Best newcomer of the year” nomination will take part on the special programme of business development at London Fashion Week (February 2018), and will visit fashion shows and other events within London Fashion Week.
