A rapid development of Ukrainian fashion industry can be proved by regular influxof new talented promising designers to the local fashion market. Each year BEST FASHION AWARDS distinguish the best young designers who have shown themselves as creative personalities as well as successful marketing specialists managing to raise their brand to a much higher level. Ukrainian Fashion Week is happy to unveil the names of five young talented representatives of Ukrainian fashion industry nominated for “Discovery of the Year” within BEST FASHION AWARDS-2012.
Maria Bekh graduated the most prestigious fashion-institution Instituto Marangoni. The designer’s works were highly appreciated by fashionable Europe, which can be proved by her numerous victories within diverse international competitions. In May 2010, according to the results of the open voting, Maria became the holder of the Triumph Inspiration Award (Paris). In summer 2010 the designer did an internship within the studio of the Queen of Scandinavian fashion Malene Birger. Ukrainian Fashion Week became the platform from which the designer gloriously presented her talent to Ukrainian fashion community. In October 2010 her first full collection under the brand BEKh provoked great resonance among mass-media representatives, fashion professionals and fashion critics.

The key to success of a young designer Elena Burba is a mix of impeccable style, mature love for fashion and prestigious fashion education. In 2008 the designer accomplished a special course on design in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design under the patronage of University of Arts (London). In 2009 Elena continued her professional formation in Instituto Marangoni. The same year the designer’s talent and ambitions helped her to realize her dream – the designer opened ELENA BURBA studio in Kiev. The designer debuted on Ukrainian Fashion Week catwalk in 2011. Feminine looks, light fabrics and silhouettes with accentuated waist-line gained the hearts of many Ukrainian fashion-lovers. Collections by Elena Burba present an interesting interpretation of femininity. The looks by designer are up-to-date and fashionable, perfect for a modern girl who wants to have laconic, harmonious and feminine look.

Nadya Dzyak trademark was set up in 2008 and became a resident of Ukrainian Fashion Week. The brand’s concept is effortless chic, that is a chic look thought-out in each detail but leaving an impression of easiness and simplicity. Among the distinguished features of the brand one can underline impeccable work with silk: the designer masterly creates sophisticated silhouettes in light flying fabrics. 2012 became glorious for Nadya Dzyak brand. Six prestigious Ukrainian multi-brand stores at a time started selling its collections.

In 2010 designer Volodymyr Podolyan presented his first PODOLYAN collection within the official schedule of Ukrainian Fashion Week. Since then the designer has been its resident. In September 2011 the designer took part in “Fresh Fashion from Kyiv” project within в Milano Moda Donna (Milan). Tremendous success of the designer was preceded by his priceless experience in fashion industry. Clothes by Volodymyr Podolyan for ATELIER 1 ("Podolyan for Atelier 1") were successfully sold in the best concept-stores worldwide – in London, Tokyo, Bilbao and Seoul. Today Volodymyr continues his formation and upgrades his professional skills in Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design.

Elena Przhonskaya is a representative of young generation of Ukrainian fashion-talents. The designer graduated Kyiv National Technology and Design University, attended work-shop of London College of Fashion lecturer Peter Coks and used the obtained knowledge and skills to create her own brand. PRZHonskaya brand is a resident of Ukrainian Fashion Week. Each season apart from traditional FW and SS collections the designer presents her cruise collections as well. In September 2011 PRZHonskaya brand took part in “Fresh Fashion from Kyiv” project within Milano Moda Donna (Italy), whereas in 2012 the designer presented her brand on international fashion-exhibition WHITE. Together with experienced Ukrainian designers young and promising Olena Przhonska impressed European fashion-community with her creations. Complicated cut and refined proportions are two impeccable features of all the collections by PRZHonskaya.
