Ukrainian brand Bobkova presents the SS21 collection, dedicated to reflections on new values of the time.
"We began to appreciate what we hadn't noticed before: the house you live in. This is not only a personal space, but also your country and culture, ”comments Khrystyna Bobkova.
The designer looks at the boundaries between home clothes and everyday clothes, creating universal things for any location. Free silhouettes, soft shapes are used to create basic things. The usual in the range of the Bobkova brand trouser suits have become less formal, their silhouette are as relaxed as possible. There are dresses of knitwear and free cut of cotton and silk. The main model of shoes in the collection are slippers: there are two versions for the home and an adaptation for wearing outdoors with a leather sole.
"Clothes are as relaxed and calm as possible. Style: evening dresses with slippers ", - the designer marks the mood of the collection.
Quarantine restrictions in Bobkova's studio turned in their favor. The new collection was created from stock fabrics. The designer reviewed the planned Norman theme of the spring-summer season and went to the Carpathians. In the villages of Kryvorivnya, Vorokhta and Yavoriv in Western Ukraine, she studied the historical, handicraft and natural diversity of the region. Interest in the tradition was reflected in the use of handicrafts, which looks spectacular against the background of a quiet collection.
The designer works a lot with a canvas made by crocheting from strips of fabric and popularly known as "grandmother's rug". In Bobkova's studio, the remnants of production were put on textured weaving. Dresses, tops, capes, shoes are made of it.
