IYDC-2019: Fashion Visual Art Residence
The Fashion Visual Art Residence (FVAR), which will be held on July 7 in Kyiv in the frame of the 2nd International Young Designers Contest.
The project combines the designers-finalists of the International Young Designers Contest and photographers.
The nine selected photographers from Ukraine and Europe will be grouped with finalists of the 2nd International Young Contest to create fashion stories with ideas to present diversity of fashion looks created by young designers from 10 countries (Czech Republic, Georgia, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Ukraine), in a way the liberty of individual talents and expressions are not conflicting and fighting for attention, but rather synergy and harmony. In one visual context, it is the story of human society today: diverse, but tolerant, where individualistic talents are synergized in a multicultural environment.
Designers and photographers will be grouped into teams. Each team will make five shoots. The fashion story will base on two fashion looks of contestants’ collections. It is very important to pay attention to the styling of fashion-shooting because the collections are completely different.
We have invited to participate in the project of stylists-mentors - the most authoritative Ukrainian stylists – who will be able to teach young designers and photographers how to create fashion-stories.
The results of Fashion Visual Art Residence will be presented to the international and Ukrainian media and the public on July 8 at the Mystetskyi Arsenal. Also selected works will be published on online resources fashionweek.ua and iydc.info.
