Guests of International Program about Ukrainian Fashion Week. Part 1
This season Ukrainian Fashion Week broadens its International Program inviting new guests-representatives of global fashion community. That’s logical, as the interest of other countries in Ukrainian Fashion Week grows from season to season. This season the catwalk shows by Ukrainian designers will be visited by buyers, fashion consultants, journalists and renowned bloggers from 6 countries. The number of accredited foreign journalists is also higher this season. Among them there are representatives of Italian, German, Belarus and Israeli mass media.
Ukrainian Fashion Week Organizing Committee assumes its mission to invite international guests and consequently present Ukrainian designers to members of international fashion community.
Ukrainian Fashion Week has already asked the guests of our International Program about their impressions and is proud to present them in several publications.

I’m very glad to be invited to such event as Ukrainian Fashion Week and I should admit that I really am impressed with the level of organization of your fashion week, as well as with the level Ukrainian designers show. We know a lot of brands and we want to make them come to Paris like Olena Dat’s, Elena Burenina which are exhibitents of Who is NEXT. I think that Ukrainian designers have potential and we will hope that they will become more famous because they are really talented. Your designers will definitely become a new wave of fashion industry. We used to work with Olena Dat’s, and we would like to work with Elena Burenina and Poustovit, we would be glad to welcome BEVZA and Litkovskaya, that’s why I really expect to know more Ukrainian brands.

“This is our first visit to Kyiv and to Ukraine in general…and a pleasant visit I should say. We are impressed with the level of Ukrainian Fashion Week organization and with creativity of Ukrainian designers. For sure your designers are successful in Ukraine, but definitely they can be known abroad and we think that world fashion weeks should give your designers a chance to show their collections within their official schedules. As more brands we know as more we want to work with such brands as Poustovit, Elena Burenina and Anisimov which have great potential. We are looking forward to exciting cooperation and hope to see the names of Ukrainian designers in the schedules of international fashion weeks. We would like fashion world to know more than French and Italian fashion”.

I am for the first time in Ukraine, that’s why I haven’t managed to have a thorough look on all your brands unfortunately. Yet, kamenskakononova collection has become my number one. I see that Ukrainian designers are talented to such extent that they have become part of international fashion already. They will become a breakthrough not only on European market, but on American market as well. The world demands new names and Ukrainians have really great chances, as your view on fashion differs from European standards and it is really exciting.
Ukrainian Fashion Week has shown creativity and inventiveness which look truly driving and up-to-date. The level of Ukrainian Fashion Week organization is incredibly high, and this lets me to hope that each season the event will become better and better…

I like Kyiv very much. I like its amazing architecture and I really enjoy driving around the city. I like warm, nice and polite people…
I am impressed by Liliya Litkovskaya show. It was very professional. This girl is really talented. Her collection is different from anything I’ve seen before within the 31st Ukrainian Fashion Week. She creates in a different style – extremely minimalistic and not sexual. Though it is not the style I usually use to wear I would still find place for many garments by Litkovskaya, especially for those in leather, they are stunning. I also liked BEVZA show, it was really an international-level show, as each detail was taken to account.
As for Ukrainian designers, they are quite talented. It’s harder to get out of Ukraine and become international, but I’m sure that with right PR here, with right management they can become international brands, as they really have potential.
I think that Ukrainian Fashion Image will be interesting for international fashion market. Ukrainian Fashion is different, a little avant-garde. Ukrainian designers try to do special things, not simple designs, but creative experiments, which sometimes are not so easy for the rest of the world. Yet, I think one day, due to what is happening in the world, Ukrainian Fashion will become trend itself. I always look for new designers and here I also hope to discover new designers whom I will really love, with whom I would be able to work in New York and try to promote there.

Before coming to Ukraine I studied the list of designers presenting their collections within Ukrainian Fashion Week and had a look through all of them actually. It is really impressive, so, I expect to be surprised and to see new talents and fresh ideas at Ukrainian Fashion Week like at any other fashion week – be it in New York, Paris, Milan, whatever.
If you have the right funding and production the world becomes your oyster. The question is that right people get right backing. There are really a lot of talented designers in Ukraine. For instance, I really liked kamenskakononova show. As I said, I looked through the collections of previous season before coming to Ukraine and this duo impressed me on-line. I think they are really great, so modern, so cutting-edge, so I was really looking forward to see their SS 2013 collection and surely was not disappointed.
I liked the show of Liliya Litkovskaya. The models are very interesting. As for me, her play with leather is just stunning. It is obvious at once that these clothes are of a very high quality. What is the most important for me is that a designer is able to surprise in his collection. I was pleasantly surprised with a collection by Liliya Poustovit – it is a very fresh look on prints. I like that Ukrainian designers are not afraid of experiments with prints and leather which are the main trends for several seasons. That is why I really want to support Ukrainian designers. I already have several looks by Liliya Poustovit and I will definitely use them for my blog.
That’s my first visit to Kyiv. It is a really beautiful city with a great cultural heritage. Ukraine has rich culture and history and people here have more creative ups, so I have faith in the future of Ukrainian fashion.
