LAKE Presented Campaign of Their Fall Winter 2014-15 Collection

The key source of inspiration for the creation of “BROKEN BEAUTY” collection is Ukrainian sacral art, namely Pinzel wooden sculptures and “The Great Beauty” film by Paolo Sorrentino. The designers of the brand plunge into reflections about the beautiful in the imperfect, breaking the borders of the generally accepted canons, as well as about the internal search of oneself.
The events happening in the country have also reflected the mood of the collection. Designers use such categories as nobility, honor, dignity. There can be traced allusions to samurai traditions, to the knighthood, to the image of Jean d’Arc – traced in details of Middle Ages armor and kendo epeeist costume.
In spite of presupposed warrior spirit designers Natalia Kamenska and Olesia Kononova tried to create very cozy, comfortable and positive collection set to protect from the inside, to give forces.
This effect was achieved by voluminous silhouettes, flowing forms, soft folds and special fabrics – silk, wool, cashmere, cloak fabric and leather.
Each season the designers experiment with textures and fabrics. This time they try rubber prints on textile and voluminous prints on leather.
Print on leather is a special accent of the collection. Two ‘masking” prints – a protector trace and a masculinized leopard – become a reflection of the protest energy of LAKE designers.
The details amaze with play of contrasts: over-the-knee free leather boots co-exist with almost hips-high fitted textile boots. Monolith rough leather constructor-clutches neighbor with soft pillow-clutches. Rough waistcoats embroidered with SWAROVSKI gems (Austrian company has been partner of Ukrainian brand for the second season already), the bold glitter of which is safely shaded with dense net.
Accessories LAKE by Katya Boulakh are also with the usage of SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS
