A special project “Art-Platform of Ukrainian Designers within the 31st Ukrainian Fashion Week” which will be presented on the first day of the 31st Ukrainian Fashion Week (October 10) is worth a special attention. Within the last 15 years Ukraine has seen the birth of a pleiad of bright, talented and authentic designers. During all these years Ukrainian Fashion Week has been not only stimulating their faith in themselves, but has also been trying to make the designer’s profession a prestigious and perspective one in Ukraine. Ukrainian Fashion Week has also become an indispensable platform for the development of their business. Ukrainian Fashion Week’s special project is dedicated to those Ukrainian designers who were “born” within these 15 years. Within the Art-platform 15 designers, whose maturing is closely connected with Ukrainian Fashion Week, will present installations which will reflect their creativity, their perception of life and fashion.
On October 10 a talented artist Oleg Tistol and a young designer Anastasiya Ivanova will present their art-project, in which Fashion and Painting will interlace. The guests will see a line of dresses created by the motives of the series “The Southern Coast of the Crimea” by Oleg Tistol.
On October 11 will start with Fashion Move On project. The platform is created to support and to develop the collaboration of designers, film directors and contemporary Ukrainian artists by means of short films demonstrated within Ukrainian Fashion Week. The project is initiated by Yuliya Polishchuk, a young Ukrainian designer, a graduate of London College of Fashion and a participant of Ukrainian Fashion Week.
On October 12 Ukrainian Fashion Week will present the works of the contest IMAGO (set by Ukrainian Fashion Week and Ukrainian Fashion Council) – a contest among fashion illustrators. Nowadays Fashion industry is believed to be one of the most rapidly growing directions of the national creative business. The foundation of such an initiative as IMAGO contest is timely and interesting for fashion community. The works will be assessed and commented by academic jury – representatives of the core higher educational establishments and creative alliances.
On October 13 those who follow the events of Ukrainian Fashion Week will trace Eco Chic Party. This event initiated by Natalia Isupova has become traditional already. This time it will be held within Ukrainian Fashion Week. The project’s location (Fomin Botanical Garden) ideally corresponds to its mission – development of a pro-ecological attitude among the dwellers of the contemporary megapolis through fashion industry, as well as attraction of the attention of the progressive community towards such a popular modern trend as ecology.
On October 13 Ukrainian Fashion Week will hold an event, which will attract those who show professional interest in the “fresh blood” of Ukrainian fashion industry. Once every several seasons Ukrainian Fashion Week introduces to its official schedule a special project which unites fashion shows of the brightest representatives of the “new wave” of talented and young. Their rapid development and healthy ambitions, recognizable style and professional marketing approach witness about the creation of a new generation of designers. Several seasons ago «New Spirit» project welcomed Liliya Litkovskaya, Olena Burenina, Svitlana Bevza, Natalia Kamenskaya/ Olesia Kononova. This October within the special project «New Spirit» you will again have the chance to admire catwalk shows of such new bright young and ambitious brands as DOMANOFF, Elena BURBA, Ksenia KIREEVA, PRZHonskaya.
On October 14 representatives of the honorable jury of IMAGO contest among fashion illustrators will summarize the results and award the winners in two nominations – Traditio and Innovatio.
This season traditional Fashion Club project which gathers fashion-lovers after fashion shows will be hosted by Buddha-Bar. Each night the guests will have a chance to see even more fashion, to admire even more innovative technologies from the organizers of the party and the partners of UFW.
An impressive potential of Ukrainian Fashion Week participants has never left any doubts. The practical result of the designers’ creative searches has always joined the optimists and the sceptics. Results have more meanings than words, whereas facts are more proclaiming than mottos.
We have decided to summarize the press-release with the list of stores and boutiques selling the collections of three Ukrainian designers-residents of Ukrainian Fashion Week. Speaking of the number of years the chosen designers have different experience with UFW, they have different strategies and different financial and production powers. They belong to different fashion directions and attend different international fashion events, and finally – they live in different cities of Ukraine.
