An Ukrainian fashion house OBRANI was established in 2009.

Between 2009 and 2011 OBRANI has successfully introduced two Pre?t-a-Porter collections, namely: PERSHA, DRUGA Mademoiselle within exclusive independent fashion shows. TRETYA, the third Pre?t-a-Porter collection of the fashion house, was presented on the catwalk of the Ukrainian Fashion Week.

Since 2012 OBRANI has been solely led and developed by a talented designer - Helen Migdisova. In October 2012, the fourth Pre?t-a?-Porter Spring/Summer 2013 collection of the fashion house, together with Helen's first collection of evening gowns in the best traditions of Couture, were presented to the public.

OBRANI is famous for extraordinary accessories - shirt fronts, which have already become the signature of the brand. In a modern designer's interpretation the collection of retro accessories named 'MANISHKA' (from Russian, 'shirt front') perfectly convey the style of OBRANI.

OBRANI is femininity and originality. OBRANI is elegance and luxury, aristocracy and purity of lines, impeccable quality and sophistication – all together inherent to the works of Helen Migdisova.

Helen Migdisova – is the ideological inspirer and creator of OBRANI fashion house.
Since early years Helen dreamed about a successful designer career and her own fashion house, which served as a good incentive for development of creativity and talent of the future designer of OBRANI.

While travelling, Helen managed to learn the culture and fashion of various countries, as well as to experience for herself the inspiring rhythm and unique style of the world's fashion capitals.

Having passed through the culture of these countries Helen determined not only her own style, but the style of OBRANI. From the collection to collection the designer stays devoted to traditions of all-time classics by creating feminine and elegant silhouettes of OBRANI dresses and evening gowns.

For Helen the OBRANI garments are not just clothing but 'living things' - born of designer's inspiration and carrying the energy of their creators.

In 2013 at the 'Elle Style Awards' ceremony OBRANI has received one of the most prestigious international awards in nomination for 'Best fashion show of the year'.

OBRANI Spring-Summer 2013 fashion show took place on a unique venue - on heliport 'Dnepr-1', situated in the very heart of Kyiv. That evening, OBRANI designer – Helen Migdisova, presented her first independent collections - Pre?t-a?-Porter Spring-Summer 2013 and the collection of 14 luxurious evening gowns, created in the best traditions of haute couture.

The winner was determined by the readers of Elle Ukraine magazine, who had been voting for 8 months.

The visiting card of the latest OBRANI collections was an extraordinary accessory – shirt front. The collection of shirt fronts named 'MANISHKA' (from Russian, 'shirt front') has become, perhaps, the key element of OBRANI PRE?T-A?-PORTER SS 2013 collection.

Having studied the history of shirt fronts in the national dresses of France and Russia, Spain and Ukraine, its variations and transformation over the time, Helen Migdisova has found her own style of creating and wearing it as original and unique accessory of a women's dress.
